Merlot (แมร์โล) is an independent chika group. Originally as five, they debuted on August 10, 2023 with the digital single "Meet you".
The group went on an indefinite hiatus on May 15, 2024.[1]
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On June 9, 2023, the group's official SNS accounts were opened, with trainee member teasers being released two days later on the 12th until the 15th.[2] On June 16, the group officially revealed Jennie, Jayee and Panun as their first three trainees.[3][4][5]
On July 16, 2023, the group revealed Fuse and Auey to be the new trainee members of the group.[6][7]
2023: Debut with "Meet you", departure of Fuse, Jennie & Jayee[]
On August 10, the group officially debuted with their first digital single "Meet you".
On September 18, Merlot released a statement announcing that Fuse, Jennie and Jayee would be graduating from the group on the 30th.[8]
2024: Departure of Panun and Auey & indefinite hiatus[]
On May 2, 2024, Merlot released a statement announcing that Panun and Auey would be graduating from the group on May 15, after which the group would go on an indefinite hiatus.[1]
