Insight Rookies was a four-member trainee boy group project under Insight Entertainment. Formed through the companies 'Sandbox Project', they debuted on July 5, 2021 with the digital single "I Like U Summer".
Though the trainee group is known as Insight Rookies, the other trainees under the company are also collectively known as 'Insight Rookies'.[citation needed]
The group presumably disbanded between late 2021 and early 2022 due to Pentor joining LAZ1, and the other trainees leaving the company.

Pre-debut[]
On June 27, 2021, Insight Entertainment announced an upcoming project.[1] On June 29, they announced their 'Sandbox Project'; A pilot project where five trainees would come together to form a trainee project group named Insight Rookies.[2] On July 1, the five trainees for the project were revealed.
2021-2022: Debut with I Like U Summer, LAZ iCON and presumed disbandment[]
On July 2, the first teaser for the group's debut single was uploaded.[3] They officially debuted on July 5 with the digital single "I Like U Summer".[4]
Joong parted ways with Insight Entertainment around the middle of 2021.
On September 25, it was revealed that all Insight Rookies members would participate in the upcoming survival show LAZ iCON.[5] Cheetah, Samui and Frank were eliminated in the final episode, while Pentor ranked 5th overall with 2,248,515 votes, thus making him a member of LAZ1.[6]
It's suspected that the group disbanded between late 2021 and early 2022, due to Pentor joining LAZ1 and the other trainees leaving the agency.
