Chanya (ชัญญ่า) is a Thai singer and actress under Independent Records. She is a member of the girl group QRRA, and a former member of BNK48 and its Team NV.
Career[]
2018-present: BNK48, QRRA[]
On April 29, 2018, New was officially introduced as one of the 27 second generation members of BNK48.[1]
She made her official debut as a member of the group on September 28, 2018, with the single album "Kimi wa Melody", where she was included in the b-side "Tsugi no Season".
On October 17, 2018, New was announced to have signed up for BNK48's first senbatsu election for their 6th single, also known as 6th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo.[2] She ended up not being ranked.
On November 16, 2019, she was revealed to have been promoted from Team Trainee to Team NV.[3]
On December 13, 2019, New was announced to have signed up for BNK48's second senbatsu election, this time for their ninth single album.[4] In the election she was ranked 28th place by fans with a total of 4,116 votes, making her a member of Under Girls and being included in the single album's title track, later revealed to be "Hashire! Penguin".
On September 26, 2020, she took part in BNK48's first janken tournament, where she survived all the way to 13th place, before she was defeated by Pakwan.[5] Because of her placing 13th, she became a part of the lineup for the title track of the groups third album, later revealed to be "Warota People".
On January 20, 2022, New was announced to have signed up for BNK48's third senbatsu election, this time for their twelfth single album.[6] In the election she was ranked 21st place by fans with a total of 10,789.39 votes, making her a member of Under Girls again and being included in the single album's b-side, later revealed to be "Make noise".
On February 26, 2024, New announced her graduation from BNK48 during the group's 2024 matsuri event, together with all thirteen other 2nd generation members; She officially graduated from the group on April 30.[7]
